Thx Dorian! Detail and really fixing something small always better than trying to do loads!

This is awesome! I’ve realized recently how important transcribing is to our musical journey. It adds another dimension and understanding of where we are going. This is a very helpful video. I’ve been transcribing the solos Stuff Smith does on What is this Thing called Love (Black Violin) , first annotating the rhythm, which, for me is currently the biggest mountain, and then using solfege and the piano to to fill in each bar. I’ll play my solos with Stuff in front of a jury in December. I’ve already realized melodic and rhythmic sequences that characterize his playing. This is the reward for climbing the Alps. I’m definitely adding this to my song study. Even if it time limits me to one line or sequence! Thanks!
